Shelby Byrd Wow. That's pretty big I would think. Not what I pictured a bear marking looking like though. I figured more scratching, that looks like it was run over by a tractor...haha. must be a big boyee to have that much force.

Shelby Byrd I've never had a shot at judging bear sign Chris. That looks like its a good 6' up the tree though. Wish you would have got a close up I'd like to see the scratch marks and damage.

Chris Avena The bottom part of the scrape was almost 6 feet. It was almost 8 foot at the top
    • Chris Avena
Scott Stover That is a grown one for sure! Prolly 7-8 ft, Im guessing that is a boar that did that, marking his territory!

Chris Avena Nice read Shelby. It brings back memories of when I was a kid & we would go to the beach to collect mussles, clams & the occasional blue crab. We would take them home, clean them up & toss them into the pot for dinner. It did not get any better than that....  more

Shelby Byrd Ordered me a new custom build 9' cast net.  The shop should have it ready in about a week.  It's a summer time favorite, heading down to the beach and stalking the shallow waters of the back bay.

Shelby Byrd It's all relative to the surroundings and the wind. I don't feel there is a cart blanch answer to stand height. I usually go with what feels the best and what elevation gives me the best view of my surroundings.

    • Scott Stover
Chris Avena My stand is about 18 feet. I think the placement of your stand is more important than the height. If your stand is looking at a hillside - yes - height is important. I have been busted by deer because you end up being at the deer's eye level. So I would p...  more
